The Boogaloo Swamis

The Boogaloo Swamis

The Boogaloo Swamis have been “letting the good times roll” in Boston for more than 15 years, mixing up the sounds of Mardi Gras with traditional R&B, funk and Afrobeat. Back before Zydeco and Cajun music were common iPod downloads, this group of musicians was turning the multitudes on to their infectious beat, picking up four Boston Music Awards along the way. Founded by Mickey Bones, along with Ralph Tufo and other Boston-area musicians, the Swamis have released five albums, and are still working the circuit and doing what they can to bring the music back to post-Katrina New Orleans.
